We are so excited. Santa has been back on the pho-ho-ho-ne to say he is just packing the last of his toys ready to set off from the North Pole to his brand new Grotto here at Whilton Locks Garden Village.
We are adding the finishing touches today, ready for the grand unveiling tomorrow as part of our annual Family Day.

It’s bigger, better and icy-er than ever before at WLGV. Open air, fully undercover and with real ice you can experience an exhilarating skate with friends and family.
Our real ice rink can be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities. The daring and skilled can show off their moves and for those who are little apprehensive we have twin bladed skates and shoe ice grippers. For the younger ones there are push-a-long penguins, polar bears and sit on bananas.
Free skate hire is included in the ticket price and there are NO BOOKING FEES

Santa invites you, your family and your furry four-legged friend to enjoy Afternoon Tea with Santa Paws at Whilton Locks Garden Village. Watch the excitement build as everyone joins in, to welcome Father Christmas. A delight for people and pooches of all ages! Tea with Santa Paws will be held in The Potting Shed Restaurant, where our jolly Santa will be wandering around and able to talk to all his special visitors. (6th December)
Father Christmas will be joining us in our magical sensory grotto. Each child will be given a premium gift – providing they are on the nice list of course. There will be low slot numbers to allow extra time to take in all of the sensory aspects of our magical Grotto, so early pre-booking is recommended. PLUS you can join the fun at our exclusive SEN ice skate. You and your children can enjoy the ice and can either use full traditional skates, twin bladed ice skates for added stability or over shoe grippers (size depending). During our Super SEN skating sessions, push chairs and wheel chairs will be allowed on the ice.
It’s a chance for the whole family to enjoy some quality time together with low levels of music, absolute minimal queuing and the opportunity when booking online to tell us everything we need to know about your child to ensure they enjoy their visit, i.e. any ‘dos and dont’s’ for your child, any specific interests to help your child feel at ease and anything else that we will need to be aware of.

(4th, 11th, 18th December)
Join the fun and bring your little ones for an exclusive Parent and Toddler ice skate. You and your young children, aged 4 and under, can enjoy the ice and can either use full traditional skates or twin bladed ice skates for added stability. Pushchairs are allowed on the ice for these sessions too! Adults can use traditional ice skates or over shoe grippers. All Skate Aids – Penguins and Banana’s will be available on the ice and FREE of charge. We recommend a ratio of one adult to one toddler on the ice. A maximum ratio of 2 toddlers to 1 adult is permitted. If the ratio of toddlers to adults exceeds a level that we believe may be a risk we reserve the right not to allow you on the ice.
PLUS join in the fun with our exclusive Toddler Santa visits, these special visits are for younger children and offer the opportunity to pre-book a timeslot to see Santa, with no queuing. These timeslots offer fast-track entry into Santa’s Grotto and are available in very low numbers – so book to secure your time.
