That reminds me\u2026 <em>I stop and stare at you, walking on the shore,\u00a0I try to concentrate, my mind wants to explore\u2026<\/em> (ahem).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>How do we beat that? With our opening of course &#8211; strongman Geoff Capes cut the ribbon and officially opened <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wlgv.co.uk\/\">Whilton Locks Garden Village<\/a>.<\/div>\n<p><strong>What else happened in 2004?<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>FASTER, HIGHER, STRONGER:<\/strong> 2004 saw the Olympics in Greece.\u00a0A total of 10,625 athletes from 201 countries participated in 301 sporting and athletic events. These were the first Games in which record-breaking U.S. swimmer Michael Phelps won his first (6) gold medals and set the record for most medals won at a single Games with 8 in total.<\/p>\n<div><strong>NEW:<\/strong> Facebook is launched as a social networking site only open to students from Harvard in February by Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates and fellow students\u00a0Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. It is expanded first to other colleges in the Boston area and other Ivy League Colleges<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>NEW TOO:<\/strong> The silicone wristband first became popular in 2004 with the Livestrong yellow band which was set up by American cyclist Lance Armstrong.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>SHOCK:<\/strong> Barbie and Ken broke up in 2004! Barbie dated a guy named Blaine for a couple of years, then got back with Ken in 2006.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>SPEEDY:<\/strong> Britney Spears married high school friend Jason Alexander for nearly an entire weekend.
